Now Playing: Symmetry - Falling Up
If I want to go to a concert bad enough, I go to the limits to make it possible. So: The X-Tour with Falling Up, my 3rd fave band in the world, Hawk Nelson, great punk, and Seventh Day Slumber, pump up tunes. First attempt to see this show: Saturday in Minneapolis, fell through for various reasons. Second: This Wednesday in Iowa City, fell through because the band's website, venue's website and ticket website are all messed up. Third, yesterday, Tuesday, I find out hours before the show that they will be in boondocks, Iowa, 2 hours away. So I gather 2 fellow faithful concert-goers - Jillian & Dane - and we drive 2 hours to nomansland. Alana, my dear Alana, is in attendance as well. One minute after buying my ticket at the door, one of the Falling Up guys announces that they can't play cuz Jessy, singer, is real sick. I suddenly get real sick. I already drank my regular pre-concert-preparation Red Bull and was totally stoked until this. Naturally, I laughed, as I do in most beautifully unfortunate and ironic situations. So, just talked with the other guys of Falling Up for a bit after the show. The two hour drive back to Des Moines was filled with loud music and even louder car-singing and much air-guitar-rockin on my part.
Today is splendid. First an IS exam. Then, another lecture of accounting complemented by a can Mountain Dew and a dose of ADD :) Now, time to longboard around campus while listening to Falling Up...
